Question about contributory negligence

Hi I hope someone can shed some light on this. I cant say to much for illegal reasons however. I had accident at work which caused a severe ongoing back injury which required operation. My claim has been going now for 5 years. With photographic proof of ground conditions being very muddy. If an employer asks you to move something that is clearly on slippery muddy ground and you have told them 4 times your not moving it till the area is cleaned and made safe. And then get pressured by manager to move items. Because I felt pressured and moved the pipes. Is this classed as contributory negligence??

I assume your work/their Solicitor are saying, as part of their defence, this is a case of contributory negligence? Is that why your asking?
