injured- surgerys and compensation

My question involves workers compensation law for the state I injured my shoulder in September of 2008. partialy tore rotator cuff and i went back to work without surgery 3 month later in November 2008. Everything was fine. I took medical leave at the end of december for a non related surgery and have been off work for 8 weeks due to that. My shoulder is hurting really bad and i was wondering if i can reopen the claim. It is the same pain and symptom ad before.
